ANDREA ANDO, Founder & Original Burgundy Girl

Andrea’s multifaceted career blossomed as she seized opportunities and incorporated her own talents and interests. First, she built a 15-year career in biotech spanning academic research to national sales, and earned respect as a woman in science.  Next she became a full-time mom.  After her daughter’s formative years, Andrea returned to work as a Recruiter and Career Consultant working with scientific and technology professionals.  All the while, her entrepreneurial spirit and lifelong passion for fitness strived for its own outlet.  This led to her role as a Certified Women’s Fitness Specialist with the Best Body Project — a virtual personal training program for weight loss and body reshaping designed for those with the busiest schedules:  working women and mothers.

As an advocate for women who want to harness their natural talents, Andrea started the blog BURGUNDY GIRL to showcase women and girls as the powerful force they are. This venture has brought Ms. Ando into the spotlight, speaking to audiences both male and female, young and old, about a variety of subjects including re-entering the workforce, careers in STEM, and using social media to establish a solid foundation for a career before even leaving high school!

Ms. Ando received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from St. Louis University.  She holds professional certifications from the National Association of Personnel Services and the National Association of Sports Medicine.

When she isn’t propelling women toward their goals, you can find Andrea cultivating hibiscus, hitting the sand volleyball courts, working toward pool shark status or attempting to surf.
